Posters can be very useful in providing constant reminders to people about general hazard awareness or how to perform certain tasks safely. Posters should be prominent and placed in well traveled areas. Locations at or near places where certain tasks or hazards exist are other good places.

Be selective of posters that are present in a particular area as they may loose their effectiveness when too much information is displayed. Posters that are communicating specific hazard information should stand out from the background. Color can be effective and certain colors are generally associated with given hazards such as, red with fire, blue with health, yellow can be for communicating warnings or can stand for reactivity etc...
